Spencer Chumbley is journalist and filmmaker based in Washington, DC. He has an extensive experience as a director of photography long-form current affairs and documentary programs. Clients include VICE on HBO, Travel Channel, Al Jazeera, Fusion, The New York Times and others. 

Chumbley's documentary work is grounded in a strong academic foundation gained through the study of conflict, international development and economics at graduate level. He holds a MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. and an BA in Economics.

He has completed 100+ hours of remote/field medical training including Battlefield Medical Response certification by Wilderness Medical Associates. In addition to extensive experience in developing countries, Chumbley was HEFAT-certified via Global Journalist Security in 2015.
